About Me:
Hello! My name is Stefani Benavente and I am a psychology intern pursuing my PhD in School Psychology at New Mexico State University, with an anticipated graduation in December 2025. I completed all doctoral coursework and recently an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District and I am now continuing my training toward licensure as a Licensed Psychologist here at Psychology Works. My journey in psychology began at Abilene Christian University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology before pursuing my doctoral degree.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan, providing counseling and psychological assessments. While I have enjoyed working with all ages, my passion lies in supporting children, adolescents, and families.

Clinical Focus:
I believe children are incredibly resilient and capable of growth, especially when given a safe, validating space to express themselves. My therapeutic approach is evidenced-based, drawing from person-centered, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions. I strive to be culturally sensitive of the unique systems (family, school, culture, and community) that directly and indirectly influence a child’s emotions, learning, and behavior. In addition to therapy, I will provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for concerns such as ADHD, Autism, and emotional/behavioral difficulties. These assessments are designed to give families a deeper understanding of their child’s strengths and challenges, while guiding individualized recommendations to support growth at home, school, and beyond. I see every child as uniquely equipped, with strengths that can be harnessed for healing and positive change. It is my privilege to walk alongside children and their families, empowering them to recognize these strengths and inspiring hope for the future. I  look forward to serving the Brazoria community!
